Daytra Callagin serves as Maybell’s Fleet Manager and Safety Director, overseeing the company’s fleet operations and ensuring both drivers and assets are safe and efficient. From tracking equipment and managing drivers to guaranteeing on-time deliveries, Daytra’s expertise keeps the fleet running smoothly and safely. His role also involves maintaining road safety standards and ensuring driver compliance with regulations.

Daytra’s journey in the trucking industry began in 1999, following a career as a security guard. Starting as an over-the-road driver, he spent 12 years on the road before transitioning to local driving for seven years. Later, as an owner-operator for five years, he expanded his leadership skills, eventually taking on managerial roles at Keystone and Wel Companies. Today, he brings his wealth of experience and dedication to Maybell Industries.

A hands-on and approachable leader, Daytra describes himself as an “easy, laid-back person—until you cross me.” His management style is grounded in enforcing rules, leading by example, and running a tight, by-the-book operation while fostering a positive environment when appropriate.

Outside of work, Daytra is passionate about working on his project car—a 1999 Yukon—and enjoys football as a devoted Green Bay Packers fan. He loves spending time with family and friends, riding horses, trail riding, four-wheeling, mudding, and watching car races. A self-proclaimed DIY enthusiast, he takes pride in figuring out how to fix anything he breaks.

Daytra lives by his favorite quote: “Don’t push me; if you push me to find that old me, you won’t like the outcome.” His favorite movies include any from the Die Hard or Fast and Furious series, as well as Scarface. For Daytra, a dream vacation is simple—relaxing by the water, free from care.
